Trumpet is a character from VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire is a major supporting character/antagonist in Knights of the Multiverse Season 1. She is the "oldest" of Dr. Symphony's Droids, created to do her bidding and defeat her enemies with the help of her water-based abilities.
Personality[]
As she's modeled to look like a young adult, Trumpet acts as the most level-headed & mature member of her sisters, acting quite gentle & even somewhat motherly towards them. She's also a powerful fighter, able stand toe to toe with even some of the strongest of Droids on either side of the conflict. That said though, she's a lot lenient towards fighting whoever her mother orders her to fight, following the old Montra of "she's my creator, gotta do what she's says"; although even then, she is quick to notice when her opponent is a genuinely good person and will apologize before attacking.
History[]
Pre-Series[]
Trumpet was created by Dr. Symphony in a test to determine which of the three conventional Droid body types - child, teen and adult - were the strongest, or had the most potential to develop. Trumpet in particular was made in the form of an 18-year-old. Unfortunately, her rival, Starr, had the same idea and made three similar androids. So, in addition to testing out the three Droid-type theory, Organ also implemented into each of her creations the drive to attack her rival's creations whenever they crossed paths.
Season 1[]
Abilities[]
- Super Strength
- Swimming
As she's built around water, Trumpet is thusly a speedy and graceful swimmer in the water.
- Water Projection
Trumpet has a special set of water tanks built into her body (located in her "stomach", of course) that allows her to generate water from virtually anywhere in her body. She can manipulate it to do things like fly short distances by creating a swirling stream of water from her lower legs or blast raging torrents from her wrists similarly to energy blasts.
She's able to refill her tanks simply by drinking water like a normal human. Of course, when she's really low, she'll often be seen chugging down an entire barrel full of it.
- Water Shield & Scatter Shower
Trumpet surrounds herself in a barrier of water to protect herself against enemy attacks. She then releases the surrounding water in the form of torrents of water in several directions.
- Rising Torrent
Trumpet surrounds herself in a torrent of water and rockets forward toward at her opponent, dashing right through them.

Notes[]
In her original series, Trumpet and her sisters were "spiritually" linked and shared experience data, and were actually created about five thousand years ago prior to the events of their home series by one Organ Symphony (who their creator in this series is obviously named after) - the goddess of fate and the first Lamuness's (the main "Big Good" hero of the series) original love interest - in order to help Lamuness's successor (with Drum's appearance and most of her personality being modeled directly off of herself), though they wouldn't be awakened for the aforementioned five thousand years until they were discovered by Lamuness's descendant, the show's main protagonist Baba Lamunade.
- On the down side though, Trumpet didn't have too much of a personality in her home series outside of acting somewhat gentle & pretty and the connection she (and her sisters) had to Lamunade (not helped by her being the most "physically mature" of the trio, if you know what I mean), so time has been taken to give this version of her a more distinct personality, which is (ironically) inspired mainly by the character of Bloodberry from Sailor Marionette R, where she was much more of a mature big sister-type and less of the fiery redhead that solves her problems with brute force that she was in the J series.
Similarly to Lorelai, the three also acted as the core units/pilots of a robot called the Water Baron, the last of the trio of heroic Super Robots of the series (though they weren't permanently bonded to it like Lorelai was to the Danube). Also like Lorelai, KotM's incarnation of the trio actually gain the Water Baron's water-based attacks (especially since their powers were only simple android powers like super endurance/speed/strength and electricity, though one of their attacks, where they charged forward in a aura of electricity and crashed through things, is alluded to in their Rising Torrent attack), similarly to Red Torpedo from DC Comics.
Another smaller element that inspired the trio's water powers is their swimsuit-like outfits that was seen whenever they were in their recharging chambers or piloting the Water Baron, and here is meant to give off the same kind of vibe as the DCAU's version of Aquagirl. She actually had another outfit in her original appearance, which was mostly a red & pink bodysuit with a bell & a lot of extra items attached to her back (IDK).
- Actually, on that topic, since she's "older" than her sisters, Trumpet had a much more sexualized design than her sisters (a trait pretty apparent in her original "battle" outfit). Her depiction in KotM tries to tone this aspect of her character design down a good bit (also robots don't really need those "features").
The rivalry between Starr & Organ's "families" is based off of Astro Boy's reimagining of Romeo & Juliet, with their two families being rival robotics experts that more often not fight each other than their actual opponents (which is also meant to be a nod to Drum and her sisters being Expys for the Sabers). Of course Drum & Lime have a simple "besties"-type relationship rather than a romantic one, and the way their powers are presented are a little different since all three Organ Droids have the same powers while the Starr Droids have different powers. It also acts as a good way to both implement both trios in a way that feels at least a little natural & show some of the personal relationships that occur within the Renegades' ranks.
