The AMX-RX-01 Impulse Gundam is a robot from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny and is a mobile suit featured in The Knights of the Multiverse, introduced in Season 2. It was piloted by Lunamaria Hawke until it was destroyed and she transitioned to the original Impulse Gundam.
History
Season 2
The Impulse, Sword Impulse and Blast Impulse Gundams was created by Axis Zeon to act as their prototype models for their future Gundam mobile suits, similarly to the Titans' Gundam Mk-II.
Armaments

- Vulcans
Rather than being mounted in the head, the Sword Impulse has its Vulcan guns mounted in its chest.
- Beam Rifle
- Beam Boomerangs
The Sword Silhouette has two beam boomerangs mounted on the sides of its backpack. These "Beam Boomerangs" as they're called are throwing weapons that emit a short beam blade on one end, and can return to the owner after throwing, often catching enemy units by surprise.
- Dual Laser Swords
The Sword Impulse carries a pair of laser swords. Unlike the normal Beam Saber, these ones are actually large physical swords with a laser blade that emits along their cutting edge. The two can be joined at their hilts to form a large dual-bladed ambidextrous form. They're also capable of extending their laser blade over the tip of the sword for even more damage against more powerful opponents like Mobile Armors.
