Minerva Heinrich is a character from Mazinger Z (series) and is a major supporting character in The Knights of the Multiverse, introduced in Season 1. She's a Droid created by L.O.S.R. to be an almost exact replica of Lorelai Heinrich based on stolen data retrieved from her mainframe systems as a way to use Dr. Heinrich's apparent masterpiece for their own uses. However, said data also included parts of Lorelai's personality, causing her to be as kind and justice-loving as her "sister" and almost immediately joining her and the Crystal Knights.
Personality[]
Like Lorelai, Minerva is very sweet & loving and shares her sister's dedication to justice and stopping the forces of evil. However, unlike her sister, since she was brought online very recently, Minerva is a lot more child-like in how she conducts herself, being very clumsy and having a more innocent outlook on life. She's very trusting of most people too, even some of the group's enemies, which often gets her in lots of trouble.
History[]
Season 1[]
Season 2[]
By the time of Season 2, Minerva had been fully repaired and was currently stationed at an EDC base, with the residents of the base taking her in and helping her further develop control for her powers. When the Knights appeared at the base and resupplied, including claiming the Iron Gear, the Heinrich sisters briefly reconnected and shared stories of their previous adventures. When it was time for the Knights to depart, Minerva promised her sister that she would look after the Earth and any bad guys that show up while she and the others fought against Zeon.
At various points throughout the season, Minerva and Lorelai would be seen making video calls to each other to share more stories. In some of their calls, Minerva expressed a desire to be out there with her big sister, as they hadn't spent any real time together since her rebuild. But Lorelai promised her that as soon as she and the others got home, she'd make sure they would have as much sister one-on-one time as they could.
Season 3[]
Abilities & Equipment[]
As she is based off of Lorelai and her Danube Armor, Minerva uses a similar suit of armor called the "Rhine Armor", which has many of its counterpart's weapons systems.
- Jet Boosters
Minerva's Rhine Armor has a set of jet boosters on its feet that allow it to fly short distances.
- Mechanical Tentacle
Minerva's Rhine Armor has a mechanical tentacle on its head that can be used as an extra appendage or a whip.
- Photon Beam
Minerva's Rhine Armor is able to fire a laser from the light-like bulb on the top of its head.
- Air Blasts
A sort of counter to Mazinger Z's Breast Fire, a set of fans extend from behind Minerva's gauntlets that can fire powerful torrents of air that are strong enough to repel Mazinger Z's Rust Hurricane.
- Double Blizzard
Combo attack w/ Lorelai: Minerva & Lorelai blast both their turbines at full power to give their opponent an extra-strong freeze over. This is usually followed up by one of the others performing another attack to land the killing blow.
Relationships[]
Lorelai Heinrich[]
As she is modeled after her, Minerva cares for Lorelai greatly, taking all of her advice about fighting the forces of evil very seriously and often worrying for her safety when she's in the middle of battle (even when she really doesn't need to).

Notes[]
Minerva is based off of Lorelai's appearance in the 1972 Mazinger Z series, and is mostly included just as a fun nod to that series. Her Rhine Armor is based off of the Rhine X1, the anime's counterpart to Danube α1 (for some reason). The idea of the two being sisters comes from the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal, and their dynamic is slightly based off of Koji and Shiro's relationship in most Mazinger media. Her story is also largely inspired by the story of Black Might Gaine, the (meant to be) evil clone of the titular hero robot of Brave Express Might Gaine, though it's based more off of how Black Gaine's story was told in the Super Robot Wars games (including how she went away for a certain period of time and returned to help the heroes later on in the story).
- To help differentiate the two's armor & powers a little better, Minerva's armor maintains some of Rhine X1's features that Lorelai omits with Danube α1, such as the mechanical head tentacle rather than a super-powered hair whip and having the armor cover her entire body instead of leaving her upper arms exposed. Minerva's superpowers also revolve a lot more around wind rather than ice.
- The armor itself actually first appears in black and grey, as a reference to what Danube looked like before Lorelai "combined" with it. It gets its more signature white/pink/red/purple color scheme by some of the Knights painting it to give it more personality, which also serves as an explanation to its rather gaudy color scheme.
Since having both characters use Lorelai's name wouldn't make sense, Minerva's name comes from another Mazinger robot that "had a heart", Minerva X.
