Mecha-King Ghidorah is a kaiju from the Godzilla Franchise and is a kaiju/mechanical monster featured in Knights of the Multiverse Season 1. Originally the terrifying, monsterous King Ghidorah, its body was found by Dr. Diminutive of L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. and given robotic enhancements to act as an ultimate weapon to take control of the organization and conquer the world.
Personality[edit | edit source]
The original King Ghidorah is frequently described by the remaining ARC members to be chaotic evil incarnate. He destroyed many civilizations in the ancient past, for seemingly no reason.
However, after being rebuilt into a cyborg, he's lost all control for himself, and only acts as a puppet to carry out his master's destruction
History[edit | edit source]
Pre-Series (The Era of King Ghidorah)[edit | edit source]
While the details of Ghidorah's origins have been lost to time, all that is known is that he was a frequent ally of the Mycenae Empire, which used him to destroy many of their hated foes, including entire civilizations. It was finally put down when the Mu civilization created a powerful robot to fight it off: Raideen.
Many eons later, as their last bid to finally crush the modern era humans, the Mycenaeans sought to revive their old comrade. Long story short, they succeeded, and Ghidorah laid waste to almost the entire Allied Robot Corps. Only the Mazingers, Getter Robo, Jeeg, Daimos, Combattler, Voltes, Zambot, Raideen and its old rival Raideen kept standing, but only barely.
Season 1[edit | edit source]
Abilities/Armaments[edit | edit source]
- Capture Cables
Mecha-King Ghidorah is equipped with Capture Cables and a large Machine Hand restraint that can also discharge electricity to pacify its target.
- Metal Wings
Since its original wings were torn to shreds in its final battle, Mecha-King Ghidorah uses its giant metal wings to fly at speeds of mach 4. The wings are also incredibly sharp, even capable of piercing through Raideen's Mutronius Armor, and act as powerful shields.
Mecha-King Ghidorah could fire tasers from the aperture on its torso, which can incapacitate opponents and drain their energy.
- Gravity Beams
Mecha-King Ghidorah's left and right heads can fire its original body's yellow Gravity beams from its mouths.
- Laser Triple Beam
Mecha-King Ghidorah can fire a Laser Triple beam from the central head. In Godzilla Island, however, all three heads can fire Laser Triple beams, due to having three mechanical heads as opposed to one.
Notes[edit | edit source]
Ghidorah has had many different backstories in his appearances in the Godzilla franchise. So, sort of following in that tradition, KotM gives him another new backstory, tying him into the original Mycenae Empire (like Raideen).
