Lulli is a character from Doraemon and is a major character in The Knights of the Multiverse, introduced in Season 1. An android owned by Dr. Cargo to serve as his daughter Elchi's caretaker and bodyguard. Despite her cutesy appearance, she's actually the strongest member of The Knights, a status which is only amplified when her Defensive Mode kicks in.

Personality

As she was made to act as a caretaker, all Lulli wants to do is serve the person who "owns her" wholeheartedly and see people happy, so she's usually very cheery and bubbly, trying to make everyone feel comfortable. Unfortunately, she can get a little too eager and energetic at points, causing her to unintentionally cause lots of damage. Thankfully, as she spends more time with her newfound friends, she's started to get this problem a little more under control.

A part of herself she tries to hide from her friends, and especially her adoptive parents, is a deep fear of being abandoned again. While she certainly loves her new life with the team, she still fears that they might consider her to be obsolete or even just a pest. She craves to be helpful and can't handle the idea of being of a burden and being useless. However, even after all the battles and other trials & tribulations the group has faced, no matter how many times she's nearly been destroyed, she never loses her cheery demeanor.

When she enters her "Defensive Mode", she's usually very unresponsive, only having a stone-faced look on her face and sometimes getting extremely violent against her opponents.

History

Pre-Series

About five years ago, Lulli B-0625 was one of hundreds of Lulli androids that were meant to serve as either an adoptive child for couples without one, a caretaker for their children, or as simple housemaids. They were very popular when they were first released until a fatal flaw was discovered: They were too energetic. This may seem silly, but their energetic demeanors cause them to unintentionally cause a lot of damage and even injure their owners. This made all of their owners return them, and they were recalled back to the factory to be destroyed.

However, B-0625 was one of the few that managed to escape custody, and like many androids before her, escaped into the bowels of Tokyo.

Skills & Equipment

  • Cleaning Skills

Although technically skilled, Lulli spends most of her free time doing the team’s laundry and cleaning.

  • Rocket Boots

Lulli has custom-made boots that have boots built into the soles that allow her to fly at tremendous speeds.

  • Super Strength

While it is normal for most androids to have enhanced strength, for whatever reason, Lulli (and presumably the rest of her sisters) is even stronger than a majority of androids in the series, and even other non-androids, able to lift almost anything with no trouble at all and can even stop a punch thrown from a Super Robot dead in its tracks.

  • Super Lulli Tornado

Lulli is able to spin at incredibly fast speeds, creating a miniature whirlwind around her.

"Defensive Mode"

Whenever Elchi is in danger or she gets injured, Lulli goes into what she describes as her Defensive Mode, a self-defense mechanism of sorts, indicated by the button on her chest and eyes glowing a bright Red, that increases her speed and strength increase ten-fold. However, this "mode" does have the side effect of switching off Lulli's personality and she acts like an A.I.-less robot, only focusing on defeating the target(s) right in front of her. Elchi will usually have to get her out of this setting manually by using the passcode "Bluebird".

Relationships

Elchi Cargo

Dr. Cargo

Though he is her creator, Lulli and Dr. Cargo don't interact all that much. Over the years, the only times the two would interact... was when he told Elchi to throw her away because she had gotten too old to need a caretaker or threatened to scrap her when she messed up. So obviously, the two don't have the best relationship.

Her Sisters

Though she rarely brings them up, Lulli loved/loves her sisters, and misses them deeply. Deep down, she's actually very depressed that all of them (presumably) have been destroyed. In fact, a huge reason as to why she fights as hard as she does (aside from her dedication to her new family, of course) is the thought that by fighting on and preserving through so much hardship, she's keeping the spirit of her sisters alive, and her line of androids won't be forgotten.

Notes

Lulli's purpose storywise is to replace Xabungle's Fatman Big (it's a Tomino anime, just run with it), Elchi's silent but super strong bodyguard. KotM's version of the character takes this idea and combines it with her being meant to be a nurse/caretaker into Elchi's guardian in this version of her story, though a lot more emphasis is placed on the two's bond (helped by how Lulli can speak, unlike Fatman). Their bond is also helped by the two's similar color palettes and Lulli and Xabungle's focus on super strength.

  • Her "Defensive Mode" is also a spin on her original counterpart, where her button and eyes would glowing were simply indicators that she was being controlled by the villains who abducted/modified her and use her to attack the main characters. So to spice it up a little, this acts more like an attack mode that would tie into her caretaker behavior. The "bluebird" keyword to "turn off" this mode is also a reference to a major plot point in her original episode.
