Lulli is a character from Doraemon and is a major character in The Knights of the Multiverse. She's a Droid in the Lulli Series made to serve as a caretaker, but was modified by L.O.S.R. to have a special "Heart Circuit" that gave her tremendous power so she could be used as another weapon in their conquest of the Earth. However, she ran away and found shelter among the Crystal Knights, developing a close bond especially with fellow runaway Asuka Langley Soryu.

Personality

As she was created to act as a caretaker, all Lulli wants to do is serve everyone wholeheartedly, and see people happy. Thusly, she's usually very cheery and bubbly, trying to make everyone feel comfortable. Unfortunately, she can get a little too eager and energetic at points, causing her to unintentionally cause lots of damage. Thankfully, as she spends more time with her newfound friends, she's started to get this problem a little more under control.

A part of herself she tries to hide from her friends is a deep fear of being abandoned again. While she certainly loves her new life with Asuka and the team, she still fears that they might consider her to be obsolete or even just a pest. She craves to be helpful and can't handle the idea of being of a burden and being useless. However, even after all the battles and other trials & tribulations the group has faced, no matter how many times she's nearly been destroyed, she never loses her cheery demeanor, always trying to get the team to look on the bright side of things.

When she enters Hyper Mode, she's usually very unresponsive, only having a blank, robotic look on her face and sometimes getting extremely violent against her opponents. However, as she's continued to get more control of the Drive as the series progresses, she's able to go in and out of it at will, and even started being able to keep complete consciousness.

History

Pre-Series

About five years ago, Lulli B-0625 was one of hundreds of Lulli androids that were meant to serve as either an adoptive child for couples without one, a caretaker for their children, or as simple housemaids. They were very popular when they were first released until a fatal flaw was discovered: They were too energetic. This may seem silly, but their energetic demeanors cause them to unintentionally cause a lot of damage and even injure their owners. This made all of their owners return them, and they were recalled back to the factory to be destroyed.

However, B-0625 was one of the few that managed to escape custody, and like many androids before her, escaped into the bowels of Tokyo. There, she was abducted by some unusual scientists where they modified her body to incorporate the Heart Circuit.

• Light Projector

The "button" on Lulli's chest is able to emit a beam of light.

• Cleaning Skills

Thanks to all of the stuff she's had to do for Elchi over the years, Lulli has lots of experience in handling laundry, general cleaning, and repairing certain mechanisms.

Well, sometimes, at least. Other times, her over-eagerness will result in her "jobs" ending up more of a mess than they already were.

• Rocket Boots

Lulli has custom-made boots that have rocket boosters built into their soles that allow her to fly at tremendous speeds.*Super Strength Despite her rather diminutive appearance, Lulli is actually quite possibly the strongest member of the team. While it is normal for most Droids to have enhanced strength, for whatever reason, Lulli (and presumably the rest of her sisters) is even stronger than a majority of Droids in the series, and even other non-Droids, able to lift almost anything with no trouble at all and can even stop a punch thrown from a Super Robot dead in its tracks.

• Super Strength

Like the rest of her line, Lulli has incredible strength, able to lift virtually anything with ease or deliver heavy amounts of damage to anything she punches (which was one of the things that ended up contributing to their initial recall). In battle she's able to utilize this strength into attacks like swinging punches, poweful divekicks, and rolling charge attacks by drilling through her enemies.

• Super Lulli Tornado

Lulli is able to spin at incredibly fast speeds, creating a miniature whirlwind around her. At first, she used this as a roundabout way to help her friends cool down with the large amount of wind it created (spoilers: it only ever ended up making a huge mess), but when the two of them joined the Knights, she turned this into a superspeed-based attack by whirling herself towards her enemy and crashing against them multiple times to inflict damage. While she can only do a slight amount of damage against strong robots like Mechas, she's able to tear through weaker robots using this.

Heart Circuit

Lulli's body has been modified so as to include a "Heart Circuit". Originally indicated by the button on her chest and eyes glowing a bright red, this subsystem increases her speed and strength ten-fold at the cost of taking over her electronic brain & overriding various other systems, including those that gave her her personality and "heart". It would activate whenever Lulli was in danger or injured even slightly and would cause Lulli to go into an "emotionless blind rage", as in she would continuously attack her enemy and wouldn't stop until the threat was completely destroyed.

After she was severly damaged, along with her rebuild, the Knights managed to lower the circuits effects to allow Lulli to activate it of her own free will, turning it into a sort of self-defense mechanism. Now indicated a bright yellow glow, it still increases her power, but she maintains full control of her functions. But as she isn't one for fighting, she doesn't activate it very often.

• Photon Beam

After mastering her Heart Circuit's capabilities, Lulli eventually learned how to blast a powerful Photon Beam from the button on her chest.

Relationships

Asuka Langley Soryu

When Lulli and Asuka first met, she quickly became aware of that her mind seemed very trouble, and resolved to understand her better. From there, the two found solace in how they were seen as disposable by their previous "owners", and eventually became very close friends. Whenever she takes off in God Sigma, whether it be from the ship or joining her in the cockpit, Lulli puts all her faith in her friend, always tells her that she believes she'll win.

When Asuka started to fall back into despair after losing a few battles too many and started to think the Knights'll throw her to the side like NERV did, Lulli was the one to remind her that she wasn't alone anymore, and that she's surrounded by lots of people that care about her a lot, herself included. She also reminded Asuka that she isn't perfect and shouldn't try to be. Just like she told her once, she only needs to be herself.

Notes

Lulli's relationship with Asuka is based both off of her dynamic with Doraemon's main protagonist Nobi Nobita in her original special and Gurren Lagann's Nia Teppelin, with her being Asuka's main emotional support pillar on the team that helps her break out of her depression with her kindness even after coming to terms with how she's essentially a disposable doll (helped also by superficial appearance-type elements like the two being non-human, having unique looking eyes and even getting shorter hair at some point in the story).

Lulli's Hyper Drive/Hyper Mode is a spin on her original series counterpart, where her button and eyes would glow crimson when the villains who abducted/modified her would put her under their control and use her to attack the main characters, mainly inspired by the Ultraman Suits from the ULTRAMAN series and their Spacium Cores' Limiter Release. But, to spice her use of it a little more, this acts more like an attack mode, and this led into further developing the Hyper Drive for other android characters. But even without the use of her Drive, she's meant to utilize the strength she originally had to be able to fight similarly to more fist-to-fist-type robots like Tetsujin 28, even replicating some of its attacks from the 1980 reboot series like the "Rolling Attack".

• Somewhat like this, Lulli's "Super Tornado" was more or less a one-off gag. Here, it's been turned into essentially her main super move, mostly to give her something unique to stand out a little better from the rest of the cast.
• As this series does with certain other characters' abilities, Lulli's Photon Beam is based primarily off of Da-Garn X's Breast Earth Buster, both as a way to give her a long-ranged attack and to show how far her mastery of her powers she's become.
