The second season of The Knights of the Multiverse featured a loose interpretation of the plot of Gundam ZZ, with Axis Zeon serving as the main antagonists and introduces elements such as the Gundam Seed Destiny casts, Rei Ayanami joining after the aversion of Third Impact, a second team-up with the Justice League, crossing paths with Adora and a whole other band of heroes that were brought together by the Multiverse's near collapse in the Mini-Series, and the creation of Mazinkaiser. This season also gives the series a more serious tone than the first one, exemplified by how several of the main characters aren't just heavily injured in battle, but even killed off.
Plot[]
In this new season, the Knights face their greatest threat in the form of a two-way war with the reawakened Axis Zeon and the Secret Society, they're all out to "neutralize" the "unorderly" Multiverse.

Notes[]
This season consists of 49 episodes, to reflect the same amount of episodes in a typical Gundam series.
Just as the first season revolved Super Robots for its selection of mechas, with a majority of Gundam shows taking center stage, including the main storyline of ZZ, this season centers around those of the Real Robot Genre. This also applies to this season adopting a darker, more serious tone (at least, once the Wing storyline begins).
While the idea of one's identities was touched on with characters like Atros, Rosy and Meryl in the first season, the concept is pushed to the max with the Puru clones, what with them being artificially-created humans and being virtually identical to normal people (save a few extra powers) but are still treated like dirt.
- Going off of that, this season goes a lot more in-depth with the Puru Clones than in the original Gundam ZZ series, like why they were created and giving them all individual personalities (since in the original ZZ, the most exposure the clones that weren't Two and Twelve had were showing up in the MP Qubeleys, and even then, they weren't given that much focus). This also extends to Puru herself, mostly to give her an origin, since the original ZZ never really gave a good reason as to why she was recruited by Axis in the first place (since she's, y'know, 10) and why she was cloned in the first place. Many of these ideas come from the Advance of Zeta Re-Boot: Gundam Inle - Black Rabbit Had a Dream manga and various fan theories.
