Katalina is a character from Angelic Layer and is a minor character in The Knights of the Multiverse, introduced in Season 1. She's a Droid designed to be an ice skater. While they were stationed around her home, she fell in love with L.O.S.R. Droid Zagam.

Katalina is a very kind-hearted Droid that loves to skate. In addition to that, she doesn't believe in fighting, desperate to convince Zagam to return to the quiet & happy life they had made with each other.

In the original Angelic Layer series, the titular robot characters - known as Angels - were actually custom-design dolls that acted as part of a highly popular game in which players called Deus buy and moved them via mental control when on a field called the "layer", akin to other anime of the sort like Beyblade or Digimon. In that same since, Katalina was simply themed after an ice skater, as she fought by "skating" on the layer and using her skates to attack while spinning. In KotM though, Katalina and any other AL characters that may be featured in the future are sized up to be human sized like the other robot characters featured, and her ice skater-theming is made into her main purpose instead of fighting.
Katalina is meant to take the place of the character of Elura from Machine Robo: Revenge of Chronos, mainly because she was also built to skate. Of course (while not the main purpose behind the change) Katalina got off a lot better than she did, as Elura actually died prior to Zagam's showcase episode, dying after a shard of ice pierced her chest, whereas Katalina obviously doesn't.
