Iris is a character from Mega Man X4 and is a major character in The Knights of the Multiverse, introduced in Season 1. A Droid created by Dr. Konner to be the peacekeeping Battle-Type Droid that possessed a fighting spirit and compassion, she originally hid in an abandoned junkyard with several Battle-type Droids created by the L.O.S.R. organization before they met a grim fate of battle, Soon though, they would be taken in to find a proper home with the Crystal Knights, doubling as both a warrior and medical officer for the other Droids.
Personality[]
As she technically only worked for the Renegades and wasn't created by them, Iris has the compassion that most of their Droids lack. She's very compassionate and kind-hearted that is quite peaceful. At the same time though, she can be a very outspoken and bold young woman that has a very strong-willed fighting spirit.
At the same time though, while she is a very powerful warrior, she doesn't take any joy or personal pride in it. She believes that war only brings pain and does not like unnecessary violence, only partaking in fighting if there's no other option. Of course, this all ties back into her original purpose of being a fighting robot with a kind heart, giving her an absolute belief in her own justice as well as strong value of all forms of life and love.
History[]
Pre-Series[]
Iris's creation is the result of an experiment to develop an ultimate fighting Droid; that is, a Battle-Type Droid with both a pacifistic heart that held a strong fighting will and sense of honor. For a time, Iris became a very skilled warrior, taking down Droids built only to destroy and small-scale terrorist cells and the like. However, she soon grew tired from the constant fighting day in and day out and decided to "retire" from the frontlines separate from her creator to enbark on a soul-searching journey. During these travels, she found herself developing a new skillset in repair work, as she would make a habit of repairing Droids that were badly damaged, even taking up part-time jobs at human/Droid hospitals at times.
Eventually, her skills would be recognized by a "traveling scientist" that requested her services as a repair bot unit for the robots fighting in their "wrestling arena". While a little against associating with something like robots mindlessly battling to the death, she at least took some comfort in knowing that she'd be helping Droids in pain. However, the retired warrior quickly became disgruntled by the way robots were being treated, like having them sent back out without much care to if they could even stand. This led to her doing a little investigation, discovering that this simple "arena" was actually a testing ground for Droids and Mecha made to aid in a bid for world domination. Though she didn't want to begin fighting again, she decided to escape from the organization, though she would at least help several "younger" Droids before they could be senselessly sent to their deaths.

Skills & Armaments[]
- Beret
- Earpiece/Communication System
Iris has an earpiece in place of her left ear that allows her to communicate with virtually any sort of communication system. She can also send signals from her electronic brain to connect other Droids' electronic brains to communicate with them directly.
- Medical/Repair Skills
- Super Strength & Speed
Being explicitly built for combat, Iris is a powerful and fast Droid. Her attacks are simple yet effective, and can easily catch an unprepared opponent off-guard.
- Rocket Boosters
Iris has a set of rocket thrusters stored in her legs that allow her to fly great distances.
- Belt Light
Iris has a special "belt" built around her torso with a blue bulb on the front of it. She primarily uses it to emit a light to explore dark areas or emit a blinding flash that paralyzes enemies.
- Arm Cannon
Iris is able retract both of her hands into her arms and convert either of them into a blaster that fires purple shots of Photon Energy,
- Charge Shot
- Iris charges the energy in her Buster to release a more powerful blast that can deal much more damage to enemies, with the added advantage of plowing through enemies who succumb to its power.
- Double Charge Shot
- Iris is able to perform a charge shot with both of her Arm Cannons. However, it is too dangerous for her to use this regularly, as it drains her energy much faster than she can normally replenish it, also causing her to overheat.
- Laser Sword
Iris's primary clone-range weapon is an experimental "Laser Sword" that she wields similarly to a fencing sabre.
- Shockwave Attack
- Iris slashes with his saber three times, each launching a shockwave low, then high, then finally low.
- Giant Shockwave Attack
- Iris leaps into the air and slashes down, unleashing a shockwave that cuts through the ground and grows taller as it travels, crying out "Ground Crush!" during the attack.
- Lightning Flash
- Iris performs a forward thrust with her Laser Sword as a blade of pinkish white lightning that reaches far distances.
- Super Laser Crash
- Iris quickly spins her Laser Sword in front of her to energize it, then performs a powerful diagonal slash on her opponent.

Notes[]
Iris is one of the few characters taken directly from a video game to be included in this series, mainly out of a loophole in how X4 had animated cutscenes (which might make way for other characters from video games from around that era of gaming).
Iris's depiction is based heavily off of her Iris -another- "counterpart" from Mega Man X DiVE, where she's the perfect fusion of her kindness and her brother Colonel's fighting spirit, somewhat like her purpose in the original MM canon but more akin to the more robotic Metal Heroes, primarily Janperson. Although unlike her -another- self, she does maintain the main bulk of her original personality from X4 - though she does also take some cues from how much more "bold" she was in the X4 manga - and obviously her classic design, though she does at least take up her brother's Beam Saber. Her laser blasts are also colored purple as a nod to her "Ultimate Reploid" form in her boss battle in the original game. In addition to that, mainly inspired by one-off Metalder character Bigwayne and the Blue Knight's backstory in the 2003 Astro series, her backstory takes her depiction in the aforementioned manga adaptation of her game of acting as a nurse - a head nurse, at that - that had a good bit of battle experience.
- This twist on her origin also lead to her having a side story in Season 2 where for one reason or another, the two sides of her programming starts to conflict with each other inside her own body like in the normal X timeline and she must overcome her fighting spirit's growing aggression on her own, inspired by Janperson when the titular robot hero started having to deal with his original "MX-A1" programming coming back to literally haunt him as a mysterious voice that caused him to temporarily waver before regaining his senses.
Of the influence the three in Pink's small group in the Knights take after Akumaizer 3 and Choujin Bibyun, Iris is meant to represent the leader of the groups Xavitan & Bibyun with her strong use of swords - a sword that resembles one used for fencing just like Xavitan - and leaving a large "group" planning to conquer the Earth with a couple allies to try and protect the innocent.
Like several characters in this series, Iris has given a few new powers/weapons that are based off of other characters from her franchise and others wholly "original" for her based off of some unique features in her character design. She has some fairly obvious additions like converting her hands into a cannon like a traditional Mega Buster and her headset from Mega Man Xtreme 2, but she has others like using her belt in ways similar to how Kamen Rider Black and Shadow Moon used their respective Rider Belts to perform powers that most normal Rider belts don't have (at least among the Showa Riders).
