The RX-178 Gundam Mark II (often just referred to as "the Mk-II") is a robot from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and is a Mobile Suit featured in The Knights of the Multiverse. The successor to the RX-78-2 Gundam that served in its home universe's One Year War, after the Gryps War, it's been frequently used by the Crystal Knights in many of its battles, with Kamille Bidan, its original pilot, taking it back during the battle with the Heralds of Unicron. It would then be upgraded by the Full Armor Gundam Mk-II in Season 1.

In the time between the Mini-Series and Season 1, the Mk-II would be upgraded into the Full Armor Mk-II.
Abilities & Equipment[]
- Vulcan Pod
Unlike most mobile suits, the Mk-II didn't have Vulcan guns attached to its head due to the enlargement of the head unit's co-processor system. Rather, it was outfitted with an external Vulcan machine gun pod with its left side housing two 60mm Vulcan guns that fire alternately, while its right side houses the counterweight and the Vulcan guns' magazine loaded with 1,400 caseless rounds, with both sides being linked by an ammunition belt.
- Beam Rifle
A standard beam rifle. When it reached Earth Prime, it's e-pac was substituted out for a rechargeable Photon Power energy pack.
- Beam Sabers
The Mk-II has two beam sabers attached to its jump pack.
- Long Rifle
The only remaining piece of the Mk-II's G-Defenser, this ranged beam weapon has a high level of destructive power.
