The Godzilla series is a collection of movies created by the Japanese company Toho Company Ltd. Like Mazinger Z and Getter Robo, the version of the series featured in Knights of the Multiverse takes inspiration from characters and storylines from multiple series.
Characters Included in Knights of the Multiverse Edit
- Godzilla (1954)
- Godzilla Jr.
- King Ghidorah
- Mecha King Ghidorah
Adapted Material Edit
In general, the main series' version of the Godzilla universe takes cues from almost all of the different versions of his stories, including Toho's Showa, Heisei and Millennium series, and Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse. The vast majority of Kaiju featured in the series are taken from their portrayals in the Showa era, though there are a number of monsters from the Heisei and Millennium eras, though not many. However, Godzilla himself takes inspiration from a mix between his interpretations from the Heisei series and the Monsterverse, where he's portrayed more as an anti-hero, doing whatever he feels like and fighting more for the sake of the Earth itself, not caring at all about the humans.
A good number of the movies are actually adapted into events that happen prior to the events of the main series, some of these movies include:
- Gojira (Godzilla 1954)
- Mothra vs Godzilla
- Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster
- Godzilla vs Hedorah
- Destroy All Monsters
- The Return of Godzilla
- Godzilla vs Biollante
- Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II
Some of the movies up for consideration of adapting into Knights of the Multiverse (or are eluded to) include:
