The God Getter is a machine from Getter Robo and is a gigantic Super Robot featured in Knights of the Multiverse Season 3. Essentially an even bigger, badder, and more dangerous version of Shin Getter Robo, it was created by Dr. Saotome and the Guild of the Multiverse to act as their final weapon against the Knights, with it serving as the final boss of the entire series.

History[edit | edit source]

Season 3[edit | edit source]

Attacks/Weapons[edit | edit source]

  • God Getter Wing

The God Getter uses a giant pair of red wings to fly at great speeds.

  • Getter Beam(s)

The God Getter is able to fire two types of Getter Rays: one is numerous, smaller beams firing from all across its torso. The second and more powerful one fires from its cockpit/mouth.

  • Getter Drill(s)

Like its use of Getter Beams, the God Getter is capable of using several different types of Getter Drills: the first is thousands of drills that emerge from all over its body, which can either fire like missiles or as large, sharp spikes. The second and more powerful one is its ability to form an enormous drill, made completely from Getter Rays, around one of its forearms.

  • Getter Cyclone

The God Getter is able to release enormous cyclones that are capable of wiping out entire armies.

  • Missile Storm

Based off of Shin Getter 3's attack of the same name, the God Getter is capable of firing a large amount of missiles stored in its shoulders.

  • Stoner Sunshine

A more powerful version of the attack used by Shin Getter One.

Notes[edit | edit source]

The God Getter actually originates from the Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo OVA, where it served as a sort of final power up for that show's incarnation of Shin Getter; needless to say, its depiction in KotM is very different. Aside from being a separate entity from the incarnation of Shin Getter seen in KotM, its main purpose as the final big bad is to act as one that takes the form of one of the main mechs in the series, similarly to the titular Infinity of the Mazinger Z: Infinity film or Granzeboma from Gurren Lagann. However, in its original state, all it was shown to do was use the Stoner Sunshine and... punch things really hard. So to make it much more befitting of a final boss, it takes inspiration from other super-powered end bosses/Super Robots.

There's also a small homage to Getter Robo Arc, with its cockpit opening up into a large fanged mouth, usually when firing the main Getter Beam.
