Genmu is a character from Galaxy Fraulein Yuna and is a minor antagonist in Knights of the Multiverse Season 1. She is the oldest of the three Dark Sister Battle-Type androids created by Dr. Empra.
In Season 3, she was recreated using Black Lady's magic and some remains of Unicronian technology to battle the Knights once more as a part of the Guild of the Multiverse, but thanks to her sister Ayako, she was convinced to change sides.
Personality[]
Unlike her sisters, Gemnu's reason for fighting is actually a bit more melancholy. She fights simply because she believes that it is the only reason she exists, and that she has nothing else to live for if she doesn't follow her creator's orders and destroy her enemies. She will still fight if she needs to, but only out of obligation to her mother's orders.
However, even if she didn't admit to it, she does possess feelings not dedicated to fighting; in particular, feelings of famililal love. While she holds no such feelings for Kyoka due to her manic personality, her love for Ayako is very apparent and very strong. These feelings for her little sister were in fact so strong that she just about joined her on the Knights until... some unfortunate events.
History[]
Pre-Series[]
Genmu and her sisters were created by their "mother" in an experiment to see what the strongest body type is for a Battle Droid: child, teenager, or adult, with Genmu being made in the form of an 18 year old. Whichever body type proved to be the most useful/most powerful would be used as a basis for an army of Droids that the rest of the organization would use in their conquest of the planet.
Season 1[]
Season 3[]
Abilities[]
- Super Strength
- Photon Beams
Genmu can fire Photon Beams from her hands.
- Metal Wings
Genmu has a pair of large metal wings on her back, mostly as a way to show her superiority over her sisters. Naturally, they allow her to fly high in the air and at high speeds.
- Feather Needles
- Genmu rotates her wings forward and rapid fires the metal "feathers" on her wings and fire them like pincer needles to pepper her foes with a barrage of them. Each needle is sharp enough to pierce 10 inch-thick walls.
Relationships[]
Dr. Empra[]
Though she does refer to her as "mother", Gemnu doesn't love her mother per say. Rather, due to her sorrowful outlook on her existence, she simply acknowledges her as her superior.
Kyoka[]
Even though she was her sister, even Gemnu looked down on Kyoka for her psychopathic tendencies and fighting for no other reason than her own sick thrill.
Ayako[]
Genmu truly did love her youngest sister. During their training, she would always take great care to aid Ayako whenever she needed it, like repairing any serious damage or making sure she was recharging her battery enough. When she seemingly betrayed the organization to join the Knights, she didn't even hate her for it. If anything, she was just disappointed. This is best exemplified by her last words, with her simply asking the Knights to take care of her little sister.

Notes[]
Genmu's more sympathetic & bleak personality was actually traits given to her in KotM to make her a bit more complex, whereas in the original OVA, she was much colder and more heartless. At one point in the final episode, Ayako tries to convert her oldest sister to the good side (which she also does in the KotM "adaptation" of the storyline) and it looks like it works as Genmu draws her in for a hug... and then she plunges her hand through Ayako's chest, rips out her reactor core, strangles her, and hurls her corpse aside.
