Fireball is a character from Astro Boy (1980) and is a minor character featured in Knights of the Multiverse Season 1. He's a Droid created by Dr. Match of L.O.S.R., named after his ability to generate fire and use it to fly around like a fireball. He was made specifically so he can destroy his "failed" prototype A-1, who's design he was modeled after.

Personality[]

Fireball is a bit of a problem child, often acting like a spoiled brat that gets bored of working easily. He isn't very enthusiastic about his "line of work", told to only use his powers to fight Match's enemies; though in causal settings, he is quite carefree and happy to work at his own pace or just show off how cool his powers can be to others that think they're "cool" too. He also doesn't have a very high opinion of humans thanks to how harshly his creator has treated him. However, he does possess a sense of telling right from wrong, as even before he turned against Match, he knew he was a bad human.

History[]

Season 1[]

Abilities[]

  • "Pyrokinesis"

Like Agnes, Fireball can convert his body's Photon Energy into heat, and uses it to generate blasts of fire from virtually any part of his body, though he usually just blasts it from his hands.

  • Fireball Form

Fireball surrounds himself in his Photon-generated fire to turn into a flying fireball (hence where he got his name) that allows him to fly at incredible speeds and even tunnel through most structures. It also makes him invulnerable to most attacks.

Relationships[]

Dr. Match[]

Fireball has a very negative view of his creator, hating him for how much he orders him around, working him to the wire and exploiting his powers for his personal vendetta with his first creation.

Agnes[]

Honey Jr.[]

Notes[]

Fireball's role in this series is to sort of be the Heat Man to Agnes's Fire Man; a fire-based robot made specially to destroy a "good" robot their design is based off of. The connection between him and Agnes obviously comes back to the fire powers his big sister has in this series.

  • It should be noted though that Fireball's purpose in the source material was to tunnel underground to help his creator find ancient treasure. And while he still can drill through things, the "treasure hunting" part of his character has been removed to make him a simple weapon of war.
