Knights Of the Multiverse Wiki

The Allied Robot Corps, or simply subtitled as "ARC", is a team that existed about a decade prior to the events of The Knights of the Multiverse. They are a group comprised of Earth Prime's mightiest Super Robots piloted by some of the most skilled (and sometimes partially crazy) men and women to become invincible guardians of world freedom from colossal forces of evil.

Many of them were destroyed in the final battle with the Mycenae Empire and are all resting in The Graveyard of Giants, but statues of them (and the survivors that continue to fight against the forces of evil to this day) were erected in the Super Robot Memorial Museum.

In Season 3, the fallen robots were rebuilt by the crazed Dr. Saotome to provide support to the Guild of the Multiverse for the "rebirth" of Shin Getter Dragon.

History[]

Pre-Series[]

More than a decade before before the events of the series proper, Earth Prime nearly faced destruction from the rampage of various ancient civilizations that sought to cleanse mankind from its surface. The world came together, pooling its resources and throwing aside old rivalries for the sake of the greater good. To fight monsters, humanity created monsters of their own. The Super Robot Program was born, with hundreds of super-powered metal giants being forged to wield powers swords and other fantastical weapons, working alongside the forces of already-existing Super Robots such as Mazinger Z of the Photon Power Lab and the Getter Robo of the Saotome Institute and even allying with ones that seemingly appeared out of nowhere like Kotetsu Jeeg. This is the time marked in history as "The Imperial Wars", where hundreds if not thousands of monsters and Super Robots clashed over the fate of the human race.

History[]

Pre-Series[]

Formation[]

For the most part, mech pilots mostly worked separately form each other, with the only exception being when the mech itself was controlled by a group of pilots, such as the Combattler team. That all changed the day the Mycenae Empire rose up from their underground ruins to retake the surface world. With most of the Kajiu held on Monster Island, the ancient empire became the planet's greatest threat, with them destroying several key cities mere minutes upon their arrival. With Mazinger Z defeated and Great Mazinger being unleashed to tackle the threat, a flurry of heroes piloting mechs came up through the woodwork to fight off this new evil, including the veteran Battle Team and Combattler V. Even the Getter Team was called in to tackle the threat every now and then while the Dinosaur Empire rose up to attack (no relation between the two empires, was just inconvenient timing).

Notes[]

The team is essentially this series' version of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps from Pacific Rim; a large organization dedicated to building giant robots to cancel the monster apocalypse. The name itself actually is taken from a group with the same idea in mind from the Getter Robo Go manga. You can see information on this team here.

The team is completely made up of classic super robots from around the 1970's era (or, at the very least, the ones worth mentioning). This is mainly as a nod to the Shogun Warriors toyline from the 70's which - to younger readers - was an import of toy company Popy's metallic Chogokin & Jumbo Machinder lines based off of some of the most popular Super Robots of the era (or at least the ones produced by Toei) with help from Mattel. Though of course there are some robots in this team that didn't appear in the toyline like Jeeg. As should be obvious to most fans of Power Rangers, the other Robots seen in the ARC are robots from early Super Sentai shows. However, to fit them a little closer to mechs such as the Mazingers, Jeeg and Daimos, the ones featured come from shows that came before the turn of the century, minus the animal-themed ones - helped that several of them did appear in Bandai's spiritual successor toyline, GoDaiKin.

  • Funny enough, the only Sentai mecha to appear in animation is Dyna Robo, which appeared in the classic Daicon IV short.
