Earth Prime is a planet featured in The Knights of the Multiverse. It gets its nickname from it being the main version of Earth that the series takes place on, and it being the "prime" site for alternate dimensions to tear open portals to and from other worlds.

History[]

Retroactively speaking, Earth Prime's early history is the same as our own. However, the timeline diverged in the 1950's that would change the world's fate forever. In 1954, an ancient creature irradiated by atomic bomb testing emerged from the ocean's depths to wreck vengeance on humanity. Its name was Godzilla, and it left Tokyo in ruins. Buildings were leveled, thousands of military personnel and citizens were killed, and worse of all, radiation left behind by all of Godzilla's footsteps left the entire area contaminated; everything from plants to the people. The monster was thankfully destroyed using an experimental weapon called the Oxygen Destroyer, but many scientists believed (and rightfully so, in the end) that Godzilla was most likely not the last of his species. In fact, there might still be an insurmountable amount of creatures just like him lingering all around the world, and if nuclear testing was to continue, another Godzilla would most certainly appear.

The aftermath of Godzilla's rampage was documented and broadcasted all over the world, pushing the world leaders to try and develop new, cleaner sources of energy than nuclear weapons, as well as to buckle down all world defense systems to prevent another disaster like Tokyo and develop new weapons that could counter another Godzilla and other creatures like it. As for Tokyo itself, while it took many years, the radiation levels did manage level down and, thanks to the advancements made in the proceeding years, was cleaned up and contained. Tokyo was completely rebuilt, where overtime it grew into the technological capital of not just Japan, but the world.

The Age of Robotics[]

As development on technology continued to develop, so too did the development of robotics. Around the mid 1980's, this led to the creation of androids, human-sized robots. These "Droids" as they would come to be called were initially only made for military hardware, consumer goods, and domestic care. As time passed though, Droids were endowed with a simulated intelligence to allow them to manufacture themselves and connect with their human companions better. However, this new A.I. system also came with an unexpected "side effect", where they began to develop a consciousness, becoming self-aware and developing a full range of human emotions. This also caused a change in relationships between them & humans, with some even started to develop relationships like genuine friendships, companion-types seeing their creators as parental figures, and in some special cases, even lovers. However, with their growing independence, they soon began to understand the difference between freedom and slavery, not helped at all by how some were even being used to fight in Ancient Rome-style gladiatorial combat for simple entertainment. Sure enough, after enough time passed, many Droids started to form protests, demanding to be treated as equals. Of course, not all humans though the same way, and many Droids were destroyed during these riots, but a surprising turnaround came about when many humans started joining in them as well, believing that they truly did have the right to be as alive and free as they did. Though the process was long and arduous, eventually cooler heads prevailed, and laws were passed that allowed all existing Droids and those yet to come online to be recognized as their own citizens.

The Imperial Wars[]

And then came a time of great darkness. The Earth had seen appearances from Kaiju - giant creatures created by nuclear radiation, mad scientists or even already existing burrowed in the Earth for millenia - several times, but those were all sporatic. There was nothing like this before. All at once, multitudes of Kaiju, alien-like robots and monsters of the like dug up from the Earth's surface one after the other, many of them in large groups, all set to do nothing but destroy mankind. Very quickly, casualties climbed up to the millions with thousands of cities destroyed. As the rampage continued, the world came together, pooling its resources and throwing aside old rivalries for the sake of the greater good. To fight monsters, humanity created monsters of their own. The Super Robot Program was born, with hundreds of super-powered metal giants being forged to wield powers swords and other fantastical weapons, working alongside the forces of already-existing Super Robots such as Mazinger Z of the Photon Power Lab and the Getter Robo of the Saotome Institute and even allying with ones that seemingly appeared out of nowhere like Kotetsu Jeeg. This is the time marked in history as "The Imperial Wars", where hundreds if not thousands of monsters and Super Robots clashed over the fate of the human race.

Featured Series[]

This version of Earth exists in a parallel version of the 21st century, where advancements in mechanical engineering and robotics have existed for well over two decades now, most being achieved around the turn of the century. Photon power and Getter energy power generators power most cities all over the world, though most residents go through life the same as the real world. Genetic engineering, though (cloning and artificial humans), is still in its infancy but advancements in the field have been progressing steadily (hence subjects like Ruri).

Taking inspiration from the Super Robot Wars game franchise, this version of Earth also exists as a hybrid of Earths from most of the shows featured in the series:
