Cosmo is a character from Chodenji Robo Combattler V and is a minor reoccurring character in The Knights of the Multiverse, introduced in Season 1. She's an android created by the evil organization L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. in the image of a little girl with angel wings to cause confusion and massive amounts of destruction with her incredible speed (because some people in the organization are just really, really sick), but The Knights managed to help her escape her dark destiny and allowed her to see the true wonders of the world.

Personality[edit | edit source]

All Cosmo wants is to be as free. As free as the birds in the sky, and exploring all the wonders the world has to offer. And thanks to the Knights rescuing her from being turned into a mindless killing machine, she's been given that chance, and is now the happy, free-spirited girl she was designed to resemble. Even with her intense fear of death, she's more than willing to put her life on the line and help her new friends when they're faced with insurmountable odds, knowing that she may not make it out online.

History[edit | edit source]

Season 1[edit | edit source]

Cosmo was created in the image of a little girl with angel wings, in a sick, twisted idea to have their next figure of destruction being a cute little angel girl in a cute pink dress. But, unbeknownst to them, Cosmo had developed a sense of freedom, longing to escape her cold, icy prison of a lab. So, about a week and a half after being created, she decided to take a chance early one morning managed to sneak out undetected. Or so she thought.

Season 2[edit | edit source]

Cosmo was one of the many allies that appeared in the later part of Season 2 to aid the Knights during the invasion.

Season 3[edit | edit source]

Abilities[edit | edit source]

  • Wings

Cosmo has a pair of large angel-like mechanical wings attached to her back, and thanks to her small stature, she can reach speeds of Mach 3, making her completely invisible to radar. Unfortunately though, they are not strong enough to avoid being cut by bladed weapons, but they are easily repairable.

  • Windstorm

Cosmo can flap her wings fast enough to create strong bursts of wind.

  • Wing Cutter

Cosmo can thin her wings out, making them sharp enough to cut through most surfaces.

  • Enhanced Strength

As an android, Cosmo has super strength that allows her to lift incredibly heavy items.

  • Photon Beam

Cosmo has a small, crimson gem embedded into her forehead that's able to fire a Photon Beam.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Lapis Lazuli[edit | edit source]

As she was the person that rescued her, Cosmo imprinted onto Lapis very quickly, and as it goes, the two formed a solid sisterly bond, with Cosmo even giving her the nickname "Lappy".

Usagi Tsukino[edit | edit source]

Catra[edit | edit source]

Cosmo and Catra got along quickly, both bonding over their more unique appearances and their desires to be free.

Emily[edit | edit source]

Ayako[edit | edit source]

Tobikage[edit | edit source]

Originally, Cosmo was terrified by Tobikage's presence, and that's putting it gently. A tall ninja with a scary-looking sword sent to take her back to the hellhole she had just escaped from by any means necessary left its scars on her, not to mention slicing off her wing. Even when she came to help them during Season 2 and saw how apologetic he was when he joined the team shortly after her, she was still skittish around him.

Notes[edit | edit source]

Cosmo is unique among the androids in that she wasn't actually a robot in her source material (sort of). Rather, she was an alien from the planet Bird Star where she and her people were forced to work under the people of Kyanbell, the show's main antagonists. She managed to escape to Earth to find freedom, but upon arrival was captured by the series's main villain, Garuda, who transformed into a miniature Slave Monster (the name of the show's Monster-of-the-Week) capable of launching very fast attacks and being invisible to radar (via a mind control device planted directly into her skull. Yikes.) and used her to reek havoc. Thankfully the Combattler Team saved her and, after having the device surgically removed, she realized what she had done, so she decided to throw herself into battle and sacrificed herself to allow Combattler to destroy its Monster of the Week. The idea to make her a full-blow android was done just to offer a simple(-ish) explanation for her origins. Plus, it helps to show how disturbing some of the L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. scientists can be. Though the gemstone on her head is in reference to the mind control device that was implanted into her in the original.

Her full name in the original show was actually "Cosmo Bird", but to keep things simple, she only uses the first part of her name in KotM. Besides, most of the characters in the episode she appeared in just call her Cosmo anyway.
