The GAT-1001/M Blaze ZAKU Phantom is a mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny and is a mass-produced mobile suit featured in Knights of the Multiverse Season 2. A variant of the ZAKU Phantom, using data they gathered from Axis Zeon and OZ's Mobile Doll system, they were created by LOGOS to act as cheap, easy-to-make army without the expenses of human pilots in their battles with the Crystal Knights, with the Blaze Phantoms specializing in high mobility in space and on earth.
Season 2 Edit
- Shoulder Shield
A distinctive shield mounted on the left shoulder, leaving both hands free to hold weapons. Large enough to protect the torso, the shield has an anti-beam coating and three spikes for use in melee combat. The shield's back has hardpoints for mounting two spare magazines for the beam assault rifle. It also stores the beam tomahawk, which slides out of a slot near the top of the shield when deployed, grip first.
- Beam Tomahawk
An axe-shaped weapon that emits a curved beam blade, it is the ZAKU Warrior's primary close combat weapon and can also be thrown.
- "Firebee" Guided Missiles
The Blaze ZAKUs Blaze pack contains a pair of AGM138 "Firebee" missile launcher, each of which contains 14 missiles.
- Beam Assault Rifle
The primary ranged weaponry of the ZAKU series, this beam firearm's design emphasizes destructive power and rapid-fire capabilities. Its accuracy is lowered somewhat as a result, but the scattering of its beam shots allows for simultaneous attack of multiple targets. Unlike most beam rifles, it does not draw power from the mobile suit's battery. Instead, the rifle is powered by the energy stored in a replaceable drum-type magazine. When not in use, this weapon could be stored on the back waist armor.
The ZAKUs and GOUFs were created by ZAFT in the original SEED Destiny. However in KotM, they were created by LOGOS, with the explanation of them taking "inspiration" from Zeon's old mobile suits of the same name and wanting to show off how superior the Cosmic Era's technology is compared to the Universal Century's.
