Ana is a character from Murder Princess and is a major supporting character in The Knights of the Multiverse, introduced in Season 1. She and her twin sister Yuna are a pair of Droids created by Dr. Akamashi, who were originally made to act as his daughters before being modified with weapons for his personal use. However, they would eventually find themselves taken under the care of the Crystal Knights after Akamashi was arrested, being mainly taken under the wing of Sunset Shimmer. Her skills and equipment are specialized for hand-to-hand/close-range combat, though she also comes in handy for infiltration-type missions thanks to her small size.

Personality[]

Ana's personality is that of a small child with ideas above her station. She is temperamental, selfish and sarcastic. More than that though, she often tries to talk a big game, boasting about how strong she is, making bold claims about how she'll take down all the Knights' enemies personally and rushing in head-&-dagger first. This is mostly an attempts to overcompensate for her small stature - her and Yuna being (possibly) the shortest of the Knights, playing up a "macho" act by taking on any challenge, her "favorite" being to charge headlong at foes several times her size. This also causes her to sometimes look down on noncombatant Droids, in the team or otherwise. But of course, she is still a good kid, as she does allow her more gentle side to present itself every now and again, evidenced by openly she shows her love towards her twin (naturally) and eventually coming to care greatly for Sunset, for taking her and her sister under her magical wings. She can also get whiny when she doesn't get what she wants, and her "tough girl" act will break when faced with near death or whenever she gets scolded a little too hard, to the point she'll actually start to break down & cry.

History[]

Pre-Series[]

Ana & Yuna were created by Dr. Akamashi to act as his lab assistants and daughters. The three lived togther happily, with the girls helping to keep his laboratory tidy. However, around the end of summer the previous year, Akamashi lost his main funding after the original L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. collapsed. The doctor fell into despair, not sure how to continue his plans, but Ana and Yuna quickly said that they were willing to help out any way they could, even if it meant he had to use their bodies in another project, as long as he was happy again. But, instead of tear them apart, Akamashi would modify their bodies to house several types of weapons and enhance their perform so they could perform near-superhuman feats of speed and strength. After their upgrades were completed, the Doctor gave his creations the task of breaking into various banks, jewelry stores and the like to gather enough resources for him to purchase as much supplies as he needed. The twins, with their love for their father clouding their better judgment, accepted this task with no questions. They would continue doing this for several more months.

Powers & Armaments[]

  • Rocket Boots

Ana's shoes have a set of thrusters on their back sides that can either give her a boost in speed on the ground - making it look like she's sliding along - or allow her to fly in the air (cute and functional, as her friends like to put it).

  • Rocket Punch

Ana is able to rocket both of her fists forward on a set of chains, similarly to Govarian's Chain Knuckles, that's actually strong enough to puncture through most other human-sized robots with ease.

  • Dagger Arm

Ana has a small blade stored in her right arm that's strong enough to block/deflect other bladed weapons and can slice/puncture through most other Droids.

Combo Attacks[]

  • Twin Takedown

Combo attack w/ Yuna: Ana and Yuna tackle their respective enemies and slam their backs into each other. Then, Ana punctures her target with her dagger arm while Yuna does the same with her gun arm. Yuna then lets off several shots into the enemy's torso before both twins kick them off to explode.

  • Triple Blitz Attack

Combo attack w/ Yuna & Sunset: Sunset, Ana & Yuna speed across the battlefield and attack their opponent with each of their respective weapons - Sunset with several strikes from a pair of magic "wings", Yuna with multiple blasts from her machine gun and Ana with a speedy & hard slash from her dagger - before ending with the three performing a three-way uppercut, , with Ana using her dagger while Sunset & Yuna with their fists.

Relationships[]

Dr. Akamashi[]

Ana loved her creator very much, and was very compliant to follow his orders when he had her commit the various robberies on his behalf. When she and Yuna joined the Knights, she tried to pass off that she had any feelings about leaving him. Of course, like most things, she said this to hide softer emotions, as the thought of her father being gone upsets her greatly even months later.

Yuna[]

Despite being made to work as a duo, and even identifying each other as twins at that, Ana & Yuna share radically differing methods and attitudes towards fighting, and as such, she views her sister as the weaker of the pair, with her often yelling at her for being such a coward or not wanting to take risks. But even though she doesn't like to admit it, she clearly does love Yuna (again, they are twins), as a result, she's often very protective of her. As such, the two work as a yin and yang - they need each other to balance their extreme natures, with Ana often needing Yuna to contain her violent nature, otherwise she might go berserk and end up like all the other robots that the Knights've destroyed.

Sunset Shimmer[]

As the person taking care of her, Ana cares a lot about Sunset, though she usually tries to hide it to keep up her fierce persona. She is thankful to her for how much she's trying to help Yuna break out of the shell Akamashi put her in.

Notes[]

This incarnation of Ana & Yuna change up their story a bit, with the duo taking influence from several other robotic/superpowered twins. Here, rather than be made as weapons first, they were created to be the children to a fatherless robotics expert ala Rock (Mega Man) and Roll before being modified into living weapons like DBZ's Androids 17 & 18 and now they use speedster-like powers like Teen Titans' Más y Menos to fight the forces of evil who're at their strongest when they're together (of course here, it's more metaphorical, as opposed to the literal way Más y Menos take it).

The new angle of Ana's character in trying to play up her "macho-ness" is sort of meant to play up how she comes from a very violent, bloody & "edgy" (for lack of a better term) series, and how Ana portrayed as "edgy" and serious as all the other characters... while looking like a little girl in a frilly dress. This is also compounted by how she act very "child-like" at times, which in influenced by how she would act like this in the original manga (a trait that wasn't very apparent in the OVA).
