Akira Hibiki is a character from Brave Raideen and is a major reoccurring character in The Knights of the Multiverse, introduced in Season 1. A member of the former Allied Robot Corps during the war against the Mycenae Empire, he is the last remaining descendant of the Mu race, an ancient tribe that was almost completely wiped out by the Mycenaeans centuries ago. He's also a world-renowned soccer player/coach and is the pilot of the ancient Super Robot, Raideen. After regaining his spark for fighting against the forces of evil, he occasionally assists his old war buddies and their strange new associates in battle, though mostly against threats on their Earth.
Personality[]
For a time, Akira was rather grim and depressed after losing some many of his comrades during the final battle of the Imperial Wars - especially the Zambot Team, whose deaths he blames himself for - and considered himself unworthy to control Raideen again, but when he heard that Ghidorah, the one responsible for so much pain and suffering in the past, had been reborn as a mechanical monster, he was more than willing to fight the beast once more to avenge his teammates. But even then, he was still hesitant on rejoining full time, but after rekindling his bonds with his old comrades and partaking in a couple more battles with them, he regained his fiery spirit of justice and is now incredibly eager to battle against the forces of evil once more.

As other descendants of an ancient race (as well as fellow pilots), the Zambot team and Akira became close friends, with Akira becoming a mentor of sorts to them. As such, Akira was affected the most by their deaths, leading him to distance himself from the other ARC pilots until the events of the series.
